how well do they work and are they worth it? was thinkin about getting one it will be 1080p and wondering if its pretty clear or not.

not at home right now, but i have one at home (quite expensive one). and a thing to figure into the costs is the bulbs.

only need one and a backup right/ what are they like 40 bucks each? was thinkin about spending around 6-700 for one

well the projector i have is very expensive i should say then, cuz the light bulb replacement was a couple hundred $s iirc.

As long as you are viewing in low light conditions, it should rival most lcds and plasmas.

i used a projector as a tc for a few years and depending on use you will need to replace the bulb once every 8-14 months my bulb was about $200 a pop also


needless to say i decided to buy a 55 in lcd tv while the 80 screen was pretty nice in the end it wasent worth it over a tv, as stated above watching tv at certain times of day was a little annoying due to light had to permanently cover a few windows etc..

they work well, just need to have no outside light coming in thru windows,

also the bulb lasts for a pretty long time

sweet :) any more suggestions? was just going to buy like ~600 dollar one at best buy. anyone know of a better place to get a decent one? going to convince the wife soon!

might try online. i always liked using cnet and looking @ their reviews.
