Dont know much about it other than it is supposed to be odorless and can have adverse side effects I believe some people have died from using this before as well.

yeah I am researching this for a class, and what I found so far
are:

Inhaled agents

Current - Nitrous Oxide, Halothane, Enflurane, Isoflurane, Sevoflurane, Desflurane
Previous - Chloroform, Cyclopropane, Methoxyflurane, Trichloroethylene, Fluroxene, Diethylether
Others - Xenon , Argon, Nitrogen, Compound 485, Thiomethoxyflurane, n-Pentane, Hydrogen, Diosychlorane.

I need to find the fastest one though -_-
that if inhaled by by air ways makes a person pass out/ has paralyzing effect

believe the body breaks chloroform down into phosgene, which is mustard gas? i think. also believe its thought to possibly be a carcinogen.

i have worked with it here and there in labs from an open bottle. just from getting a few smells, you could get a little light headed. ofc when its on a cloth and put directly to one's mouth/nose it will require much less. as for how fast, i guess it depends on circumstances but i wouldnt imagine long.

I think Nitrous Oxide works almost immediately, so that would be my best guess. Maybe ask an anesthesiologist/anaesthetist if you know one. I play basketball with an anaesthetist but he's away right now (so if the question can sit until late October, lmk).

Of course you could always say that inhaling a truck works faster :( jk, jk

I don't believe anyone works faster then the other. It would depend on how long it takes for the chemicals to hit the brain. This is imo.
