This contains an interesting monologue, but it's nothing new to science. ^ nice to hear that he will be re-doing Cosmos, because he has an engaging personality. As for what he said about advanced alien life being 1% smarter than us, I think he meant to suggest that they don't share 1% of our DNA, and they're more advanced for this. What he did not suggest (and which might be more interesting) is that DNA isn't the only way to script life or life-like stuff; moreover, perhaps there are some limitations on life as we know it that would be eliminated by a different type of scripting. Anyway I enjoyed what he said but it's the same stuff I read from Cosmos etc in the 80s. Nonetheless, it's good to take science from the pedestal of the vernacular and to disperse it in common terms to everyone.
