What do you think about the current generation of tablets? Are they worth buying or should I wait for Windows 8 generation tbr?

I'm not buying one just because I don't buy things for the sake of buying new shiny technology. For the same price of most tablets (~$500) you can get a pretty decent laptop with greater functionality at the cost of some portability.

If you think you can benefit from having a tablet now, then get it now. If you think a laptop's good enough for what you'd use it for, then you should wait and see if your wants/needs change in the future.

I didnt like the idea of them until I actaully played around with my mom's IPAD.

Pretty cool if you ask me. Netflix plays like a champ on it.

what do you plan on using it for?

short of it being super useful for your job i can't see any reason to get a tablet instead of a laptop.

This. My brother just visited and he had an IPAD 2 with him. I liked it better than a laptop.

Do you have a smartphone?

If yes, practically anything your doing on your smartphone is what you acheive on a Tablet, only on a smaller level. (Portability right? well it fits right in your pocket and serves it purpose)

I personally feel if your going for a tablet and are going to drop 500-700 dollars, why not just buy a nice ass Netbook? Some netbooks are just as portable as a tablet, but gain much more features with an actual computer rather then a laptop.

It's all preference when it comes to that device, but I'd do at best a pro/con list of each device and see which one is better suited for you!
