Would vision loss through staring directly at the sun considered permanent damage? Or is it the same type of vision loss from books, computer screens that can be reversed possibly by lasik eye surgery?

Hm yeah if a burn can be corrected with glasses and contacts I just thought it would be similar type of vision loss
But what I really want to know is, can it be treated in anyway like reshaping the eye or using laser to get perfect vision again?

the damage caused is to the retina not the focusing parts of the eyes. if the retina doesn't heal itself there is no fixing it currently.

Except retinal replacement. Either that or stem cell treatments. But as far as I'm aware, both are currently outside the boundaries of modern medicine.

Lasik surgery reshapes the cornea to help your eye focus properly. This is because your eye is either too long or too short, and it grew that way. You can't really repair "damage", per se, of any kind with lasik.

Depends ofc on how long u stare at the sun

if its for like 5-10 seconds, which is probably more than most people can bare, then you'll probably have slight damage but you'll have flash, which means u cannot see for several days. your eyes might even swell up

if for longer, im sure you'll go blind lol

The damage done will be mostly temporary, with the amount of permanent damage dependent on the duration. It's the UV rays you need to worry about btw, not visible light. There needs to be a huge amount of visible light for it to damage your eyes. Richard Feynman looked at the Trinity atomic bomb without dark glasses, he just sat behind a truck windshield that filtered out the UV rays. So if you want to look at the sun, use something that will filter out UV, welding masks always work great, or you could use a sheet of paper and a focused telescope.
