I read that biodiversity is in decline and that nature is getting fucked up so my questions are:
1 ) What causes biodiversity to decline ?
2 ) Why many species become scarce or extinct?
3) When 2 of the above were at their best shape(period)?

Human encroachment is a pretty good answer for the first two questions.

The third is a bit trickier, though. Probably years before we had huge destructive capabilities.

I'm thinking about the time when technology garnered our way into mass migration, so probably around that time, yes.
