We're getting closer and closer to it, and making advances in biomedical engineering all of the time. We're starting to see bionic limbs that people can move with their nerves, lab grown organs, simple nanomachines disguised as red blood cells that can administer cancer killing medicine directly to tumors, and even gene inhibition that can give us longevity, strength, and intelligence. The age of transhumanism is dawning, and if you're under the age of 60 there is a decent chance that you will be able to live forever. All of this coupled with neuroscience means we could very well see the world's first posthumans in a matter of decades.

Thoughts?

Not going to happen. No one wants to live forever. Besides your brain will decay overtime...you kill brain cells everytime you drink/smoke and for several other reasons.. until we can figure out a way to fix that it won't happen.

You'll live for 500 years but for 400 of them you'll be mentally handicapped.

Eh, I'm sure by then there will be self replicating nanomachines that can repair and maintain your brain indefinitely..

its too bad, we're kinda far away from making that work.

but it would arise other problems like overpouplation. No one could be having kids cuz no one would die. Now its possible that people will die of certain causes, but we will have a lot of old ppl lol

Not by man's works...

Man will be cut-off soon.

Jesus Christ promised Eternal Life to anyone would call on his name.

Too bad religion is a falsehood.....

Man COULD live forever in the somewhat near future, however I doubt we will want this to happen...

Not really sure why you'd even want to live forever.
