So I am currently on a college campus and trying to get online for d2 using a wired connection as wireless sucks on campus.

Basically on Friday I was able to use my ethernet cable to log into d2 without a problem, but now when I try it says unable to connect to battle.net

However I can connect to USWest/Asia/Europe using a wired connection and a wireless connection works for connecting to USEast (the only problem is it is extremely laggy)

I tried using openportchecktool to see if port 6112 was open, but it keeps timing out not able to tell me if it is or not

Also I am on a mac

You probably found your problem with the port. Though I'm not sure if Mac has an option to run as an administrator. Try that if you do.

the campus itself might have the port closed, so that no traffic can enter it across campus. If nothing else works, you'll have to find out who the network administrator is and send them an email to ask if the campus networking policy blocks that port.
