where did the singularity come from that caused this to happen?

no one knows and will probably ever know.

think of it this way
the laws of physics apply only within the universe as we observe it
whatever existed before the universe (if anything) surly would not need to follow any such laws
so we don't know and we couldn't possibly guess

I am a Christian so i believe God caused the big bang to happen. ( Looking at the complexity of the universe is hard to immagine it is like this at random )

Although, its a theory that a "big bang" happens every 5 or so trillion years for all we know we just so happen to be in the bang that went right.

No i assume God was the "singularity" or the " Light" ( Of course where he came from is unknown as well ) But i just like seeing other's views
