I just had a question about them... I'm not looking to purchase one or anything, but I was wondering. With a Gas car you can apply more to the gas pedal to get an increased amount of gas into the engine. Obviously. It's helpful when we are stuck in the snow, etc etc. But that works with increased amount of gasoline. Can you do that with an electric car? I mean, are the cars at the point where they can do that?

Yeah that's what I thought. But I don't know, maybe I just don't understand enough about how wiring and what not works to grasp it. Which will chance once I become an electrician. After I go to trade school. In 3 or so years.

Good for short commutes, but you want a backup system if you're planning on going long distances.

With these fuel vapor cars that I was making parts for, there is a backup generator that uses fuel vapor to create more electricity when it runs out.

Not all electric Cars are built Equal.

The King is the Tesla Roadster IMO

Checkout the specs on this puppy. So yeah...... you push the pedal down on this animal and you get Instant accelleration :)

yes pushing down on the pedal makes an electric car accelerate.

applying more gas while stuck in the snow gets you more stuck. rock it back and forth in idle ftw.

This.

But really, electric cars are only good for short commutes. You'll want a gas powered car if you ever want to take a trip.

Or a Jaguar C-X75. 4 140kW electric motors, with twin gas turbines (concept) or conventional engine (boring production) that kicks in as a generator. Engines are most efficient when running at a constant RPM, gas turbines even more so. The power, responsiveness and handling of a 4 wheel drive electric supercar with the range and versatility of a conventional car.

And AC motor speed is determined by several variables (input frequency, RMS voltage, slip rate), two of which can be easily altered in an analogue manner by a controller which takes input from the accelerator, and also possibly (in the case of multi-motor setups) other sensors, stability programmes, anti-skid etc.

question is... if you slam on the brakes do you charge the car faster?
