In men in black ( i know, just bear with me ) they have the memory erasers. What if these were real? Youd have no idea if they were or not. If you did find out they existed your mind would be wiped and youd have no idea that they existed. So crazy shit could have just happened to you but you would never know because at anytime they could wipe your mind of anything you just saw. Just something i like to think about.

such a small world. i always think about this

from memory ( no pun intended ) , memories are consilidated over the period of about a year
after that , that are (moved ? assigned ? ) to long term memory
im not sure that such a localized erosion of memory is actually possible , without causeing more memory loss than simply the last few hours
and people tend to notice ( or friends family do ) large holes in their memories
