I'm thinking of going for a Ph.D. I already got a Master's degree. Anyone here who has a Ph.D and thinks it was worth it in the end?

Why do you want to get a Ph.D.? It's obviously worth it if you want a career in research, but it doesn't sound like that's your goal. If you just want to improve your resume, you would be better off with work experience.

e: Those are three completely different fields, by the way.

I was going to say yes at first but then I saw this.

If you are going to do it because you really want to learn, then it is worth it. However, if you are doing it to just bullshit through it to make more money, it may be best that you do not think about doing it. When it comes down to it, it is entirely your choice what you would like to do.

Exactly what this guy said.

From what it sounds like, and taking into account these three remotely related fields, it sounds like a no.

However, I do not have a Ph.D, but I am in college that is noted for research and even many professors here do not have their Ph.D, so you have to ask yourself what it is you are trying to get out of it.

For example, work experience would provide more insight especially in a field like Finance rather than getting a Ph.D in it.

I'm a Doctor and so should you become one.

PRESTIGE. MONEY. WHAT'S THE THIRD THING THAT INEVITABLY FOLLOWS? I let you find by yourself.
