that we humans as a race cant find a way to communicate still?
We set up our own cultural barriers and isolate ourselves from the rest. Would it not be ok for us to find an universal language? And why has it not been done, does it not make sense or is it unnecessary?
With todays technology language its the only thing keeping us apart

as far as universal language, I think the problem here is that no one would want to give up their historical language

speaking the same language won't make you think the same and its not even close to the top of the list we as a species need to accomplish.

Lol, well how do you suppose we get all nations to agree on what language to accept? Every country will say their own because they do not want to have to learn another language.
Although most countries teach English in Europe, spreading that to places like Africa and Asia would be much harder.

Arent we rational enough to come to an agreement?
Of course it would take time, even entire generations, but it could be done if we werent that arrogant, language imposition has taken place before.

Within fifty years there will be three languages and three currencies used globally.

Good luck making countries give up their own language.

Language is not at all the only thing keeping us apart. There are huge cultural differences between us.

Also, aside from the US (you hipsters) pretty much everyone uses the metric system.
