Why do some people appear to have a slightly green colour to their skin when they're ill, especially when they're throwing up, or about to throw up?

I figured this would be the relevant sub-forum to ask this question lol

Only thing I could guess is that blood drains from the person's face, so it makes them look less red/healthy

Its because when someone is sick and about ready to throw up, yes the blood runs from their face creating paleness, but the fact that you also have a lowered white blood cell count causes your blood (which is normally blue) to turn a hint of greenish, so the blood that is left over in your face is easier to visualize, and it just so happens to be greenish.
