ofc it would be dino zombies but bear with me

there is no strong evidence of how they died out.
its possible there could have been a virus that turned them into "zombies" much like 28 days later and other films, etc.

without the virus having a host, it to would have died. which explains lack of evidence for extinction

it would also explain why aquatic life did not die off with them.
