I am considering the possibility of converting something like this home wind turbine to run on magnet repulsion instead of wind:
http://www.magnet4less.com/product_info.php?products_id=719The keys that I am not really sure of right off the bat are 1) approximately what angle would the magnets need to be placed on the turbine blades relative to the larger magnet that is repelling them? and 2) how strong should the magnets be to approximate ~10 mph winds to keep the turbine at 1kwh (this will run my home pretty much all day by itself)?
What do you geeks think the feasibility on a project like this succeeding is?
If not, maybe I will try making a floating bearing with neodymium magnets.
