so there a audio input on the back wich i plugegd my headphones in it but this isnt working.

you need an output... input = source going into the tv

most likely you go through some sort of receiver. if you wish to listen to the tv through headphones, go directly through the receiver in the audio output (red/white cables). most likely you will need an adapter of sorts

Yes. Duh. Nub.

a lot of tv's these days have a headphone jack on them. your not gonna get much if you plug your headphones into the input slot thouhg... look for the other hole of the same size.
