alright well for my little brothers physics course theyre building a pulley in a sense. something like that cept it's a bar instead of the wheel meaning when u pull it up nd down theres a lot of friction on the rope rubbing against the bar (the bar is also slightly square rather than being round. (if u pull fast enough rope feels like its on fire ) and the rope actually just snapped a little while ago so tomorrow ill be going out nd buying another one.
now the rope i bought was a nylon one and it didn't seem to hold out so well against the tension. was the rope too thin?? or would there be a better type of rope i could buy for this??

heresw my shitty paint for it. ofc the bar isnt anywhere near as thick. its really thign actually cept i think its the corners which cause the friction and probably tore through the nyolon ropes with enough pulling up nd down

just looking for advice on a different rope that would work better with this
