any members here? there are something like 250,000 users, internationally. my pc at home is dead and cant from work, but am definately "in". basically you look at pictures of random, unorganized galaxies and classify them into galaxy types (spiral, elliptical etc). you will be witnessing galaxies that human eyes have never seen before! exciting! a school teacher from europe found an object never before seen in space. it is a vivid blue cloud of mysterious composition. the cloud was named after him. wow.
i cant go to the site from work if someone could post a link it would be appreciated. this volunteer research is very useful. computers cannot do this research and to pay 1/4 million people to do the work is impossible.
also see merger zoo (classify merging galaxies), hubble zoo (more deep field objects) and there are a few others.
