does Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz > an intel (R) pentium (R) dual cpu T2390 @ 1.86 ghz 1.87 ghz

I ask because I am not sure if the dual processor is counted twice and therefore more speed than the pentium 3.2

it is counted twice.

however, i believe in quad cores, you only use 2 most of the time any way.

so going with a dual is probably better any way.

wtf u guys are talking out ur ass pentium 4 3.2 ghz proc is a old ass desktop proc based on netburst arcitecture witch is a failure.

its a single core proc

and the other one the T2390 is a laptop processor and no you dont count it twice thats not how it works.

processors are based on how many calculations they can perform per second.

and wether u can utilize more than 1 core depends on the program.

programs have to be coded to use more than 1 core

if its not ur not going to see much increase

also its retarded and pointless to compare desktop and laptop cpu's
