ok, ive got an ipod full of music, and a new laptop.

i want to put the ipod's music onto the new itunes.
but its telling me i need to erase everything on the ipod to open it up.

how can i get the music from the ipod onto the itunes?

OR, how can i get music from my ipod onto my iphone?

There is 1 thing you can do.
Go to options on your pc, and then go to folder optios, then say: show hidden folders.
Then go to your iPod, and find the folder: iPod_control
Then find the folder called music, copy that to your desktop.
And that folder there is alot of folders, open each folder and move those files to the same folder.
Then add that folder to iTunes, and you've moved all the music from your iPod --> Pc

BUT!
All the files is named 4 random letters, but when you put them in iTunes, iTunes knows the name of them ;)

there are 3rd party programs that take music from your ipod and put them onto your harddrive (itunes wont do this)
an example is copypod, but i'm sure you can find either a free one or bit torrent one

you can do this, but sometimes the song names get all messed up


what i would do:

if you want it to not sync then press cancel when that popup comes.
then click on your ipod icon, and at the main screen choose "move file manually" or whatever.that way it will never sync.
getting music from the ipod to itunes is not within my knowledge though. lol
