Where in the fossil record do you find support for evolution?

I'm not asking this because I lack total understanding on the issue. I realize how necessary useful it would be to use the fossil record to support evolution; however, I just finished reading a book in which I realized that rock layers have little evidence of supporting evolution. Although this is true, it seems that there are many people who would say that the fossil record perfectly supports evolution - therefore, I would like to hear their side or simply someone here who is well versed and knowledgeable about the fossil record.

For instance, find me something about:

Fossilized organisms found in the Precambrian layer depicting a predecessor of all the complex, multicellular organisms found in the Cambrian layer.
Fossils filling the gap from amphibians to reptiles
Fossils filling the gap from reptiles to birds

im not so sure its in the fossils but u can see this today by looking that we have made goats that spin spider silk... this is evolution... goats of the past could not do this but do to genetic evolution we can turn these genes on or off as we see fit

No, I'm not here to debate I'm here to do 1 of 3 things

1) realize that 'evolution is supported by the fossil record' is a false, baseless claim
2) find supporting evidence that evolution is in fact supported by the fossil record
3) realize that my attempts to gain understanding in this field are not welcomed here

I'm not asking for a million sources - I am asking for people who have read books about the fossil record who could give me a few sources they have read themselves. I am not looking for uneducated people who blindly believe in these things. I want to talk to people who have taken attempts to understand it themselves

no one here is an expert in the field which is why its better for you to go read what experts have published. also if you cant realize that evolution is real you lack basic deductive reasoning skills. sure how it started you might be skeptical on i understand that but if you think that things didn't and aren't evolving you might want to pay more attention to the world around you.

I think you would be right in saying I believe evolution exists - but Darwin himself stated that he didn't believe limitless change was possible - I myself agree with him. Not because I am not capable of accepting that it could happen, but simply because i haven't seen any compelling reason to accept such a claim. It would be purely on faith if I did. That's why I am asking these things about the fossil record. As far as I can tell, all organisms have change within limits - and this is what I call evolution.

the problem with using darwins thoughts on the subject aside from him finding out the basics is that he lacked the kind of technology and understanding we have today. i mean the first person to make a car wouldn't of been able to imagine our cars today. darwin started that path but he was in no real position to determine where it ended. the problem with trying to base your ideals on the fossil record alone is that its a very limited record due to the rare nature of fossils

If you're looking for a book to read about the evidence behind evolution, including the fossil record, look for Darwin's "Greatest Show on Earth".

Or take a short-cut look up your argument on here: http://talkorigins.org/indexcc/ and save us all the headache. All claims are sourced for further reading. Or if you really want, I'll explain it to you, but I've argued with you before and its like talking to a rock and would really rather not waste my time. Anything I can say to you is summed up more succinctly on talkorigins and has references.
