I have this bogus behavioral psychology book which is claiming that it can.

"If you just reinforce creative behavior, more creative behavior will result."

or

"We had this chimp in a room with a banana tied to a rope from the ceiling and we setup the room with two boxes. After a while the chimp figured out you had to stack the boxes (insight) to get the banana. Later the chimp figured it out quicker, therefore insight is a product of learning experience!"

Obviously I'm paraphrasing (or just going off memory), but the examples in the text were not compelling at all. I'll scan the pages later if anyone wants to see what it says. I'm not convinced.

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE SUGGESTS?

no retards pls

The fact that the chimp was able to reference his previous encounter with box stacking has nothing to do with overall insight. It's merely a skill he had learned, and was able to re-enact it.
It all depends on the definition of insight/creativity you're trying to establish.

I personally don't believe that creativity is something that can be improved through reinforcement. Rather, it may be improved through experience acquired through personal/free will. Insight when being defined as akin to wisdom definitely cannot be simply taught, as it's an accumulation of overall knowledge.

i don't see why you need help understanding the first part since everyone who is creative at something always has someone encouraging or inspiring them.

insight is problem solving so of course it can be taught.

Well, OK, I probably didn't do the research in the book justice. So don't make up your minds completely off of what I posted.
