I have a 2g iphone 3.1.2, I've downloaded and ran black rain. How can i tell if my iphone is "jail broken"

yea, the cydia icon is on it. So I can take it to T-Mobile and they will be able to add it to my account?

No, no, and no.

Jailbroken does not mean unlocked. Cydia does not mean it will work with TMobile. I'm not sure what options you picked when you used BlackRa1n, and I've been out of the whole jailbreaking/unlocking scene lately so I'm not sure what versions can be unlocked and whatever, but just having Cydia doesn't mean unlocked.
