Hey guys, what do you think of this as a choice for an undergraduate degree at university?
I know I want to do engineering, i'm kind of stuck between comouter or electrical.
Can any of you provide some information about each?

as for computer engineering. if you mean design engineering i took classes in my highschool for that using CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) and thats what im looking into as a future job. its actually very entertaining in my opinion. Search for mechanical engineering degree or something and look for a list of job opportunities that that degree provides for. its a very broad proffession and can be used in a lot of different circumstances.

I didn't know mechanical was closely related, I thought electrical would have been.

well depending on what you are more interested in doing as your career.
CAD is for design, like sitting behind a computer and designing architecture, engines, car models, etc etc etc,
but then there are the engineers that do the hands on work that the CAD engineers have designed before them, and im pretty sure you can go either way with a mechanical engineering degree or whatever.

I was reading about it, it set you can actualy branch off into robotics or even the oil and gas industry

you just want to go into engineering because it pays ok and has math in it?

For some reason with little info on you, I get the thought that computer networking might be a consideration.

I enjoy solving problems and to doing something to advance technology seems pretty worthwhile to me.

as i thought
most people that go into engineering dont really know what they want to do in life (as an occupation)

Actualy most people in Life DONT KNOW WHAT THEY WANT TO DO AS AN OCCUPATION before you head out to school, and
experience it for yourself, which is where i'll be in september.
