Let me start by saying I am an idiot.

I opened a word document from my gmail account onto my computer. I then proceeded to put in several hours of work. Instead of using the 'save as' function, i clicked 'save' and then exited word. I now cannot locate my file.

I have tried searching for backup files, temp files, the word document itself. but to no avail.

My computer has windows xp operating system.

does anyone know how/if the document is recoverable?

What version of word is it? In my version of 2003 word, whenever I open it up it has my last few opened files that I accessed from last time on a tab.

did it save over the word document on gmail. could have put it in temp internet files or temp documents
