Do you know the PH levels, and do you have enough oxygen flow into the water?

The filter might need a clean up.

pH = how much of an acid or base the water in the tank is

7 is would be perfect for water

You can buy test strips that you use to test the PH. Just go to the pet store (preferably one that has a large fish section) and ask for a PH test kit, they should know what you are talking about.

No, all you need is to go to a local pet store.
Ask the person at the desk or any of the people roaming around for a pH test kit.
They are little strips that you dip in the water and then they change color, and there is a chart that show which colors are which.
Usually the colors are based on a scale from 1-10 - and they represent the acidity or the base of the water.
around 7 is what you are looking for, for your fish tank, although if it is salt water it may be lower (i think?)
good luck

Didn't I just say the same thing?? And the range is 0-14 with 0-7 being acidic and 7-14 being base.
But I guess thats a good way to spam your post count up. No wonder you have 20k+ posts
