2001 BMW (325xi)

Had a flipscreen dvd player installed

it was stolen with an amp

Put in the stock headunit with a new amp, worked fine for months

Remote Turn on got ripped out while whippin the shit outta the car

Now the Headunit won't turn off with car (NO key / Open Door, still plays til you turn headunit power off)
Amp wont turn on at all (12V is good, Regrounded, No Blown Fuses... amp works fine in my other car though)

Remote turn on looks good from AMP + under carpet, and From dash to headunit
didnt rip out all the carpet to follow it though

Any ideas?

When you hook up a remote wire from your head unit it should only read 12v when the ignition is on. It sounds like you spliced the remote wire into a constant 12v source. Ive found when installing stereos the best way to get a remote signal is through the cig lighter wiring. Just test for 12v with ignition on (car off). If it reads 0v when totally off and 12v at ignition thats your remote.

This could also affect your amp because it isnt receiving the right signal from your headunit.

Also check the large power cable fuse that connects to the battery which sits in your engine bay.

What amp and power is it? What gauge power and earth cables? Did you sand back to area to bare metal where the earth bolts down to the body?

Nah it's in the 12v Accessory, not the 12v Constant
Been solder'd to it by a professional 2x AMPs and 2x Headunits Ago
Haven't touched a thing in months, and this problem came from nowhere :(
