i was creating hydrogen using the way with electrolysis and i thought that the higher the volts the faster it would turn the water to h2 o i first used 2 aa batterys and it made alot of very small bubbles then i found a ac to 12v dc wall converter. i put the positive and negative in the water but it didnt bubble much more than the aa's did. maybe the converter was daulty.
but is the process supposed to be faster when you use higher voltage?

Bubbles are a bit unreliable. A good sight test is to use the currents over the same amount of time and ignite the hydrogen tube.

If that is isn't conclusive, then try reducing the electrolysis time. You could be creating to much hydrogen for both subject tubes to distinguish therefore a short enough time would allow you to get to a point where you create more in one that the other and thus end up with with a greater oxidation reaction in the tube with more hydrogen.

Make sure you repeat the experiment a few times after you find the right current and time to make your point.
