ok i got a tattoo about a year ago
recently it started swelling up (ink only not around it) and itching really bad
does any1 have any idea wat this might be?

black ink
and nothing out of the ordinary
i work out every day, go to school. just the normal stuff
kinda worried about what it could be though =/

You are getting too buff it seems. The muscles are getting engorged and stretching the skin. When you have ink there, it irritates it and swells.

I'd say see a doctor. It could be a combination of the working out and change in temperature (in between seasons), but as far as I know it's more common with coloured tats.

It's not that serious though, and should pass.

Sounds like you've obtained a sort of fungus or slight bacterial irritation around the tattoo. Remember that tattoos take a long time to heal, and when they do usually the image becomes distorted.

See your doctor for treatment.
