For my semester final in my physics class, me and a buddy plan on creating a Tesla coil, roughly about 6 feet in height. We have yet to decide on the blueprints we would like to use for it just yet, but we are very interested in using plexiglass rather than wood, so you can see everything that we did inside of the coil, and so you can see everything that is going on inside of the coil.

So far, we know we'll need a Franceformer and some type of Torroidal orb as the headpeice, but I figured I'd ask you guys and see if you had any suggestions or experiance with building one.

Also I'll start posting picture of the project when we start to work on it, so you guys can see what's going on. I'l try to log my time as best as I can too for a time frame of how long it takes smile.gif. I'm pretty eager to start this.

Nah, I don't think so. I'll be talking to the engineers for advice + I'll be doing tons of research. You'll see.

This is in college btw.

Lol, you think being a first year physics student makes you capable of making an efficient Tcoil???

he didn't say anywhere in there that he was a first year physics student, he said his semester final in his physics class. Learn to pay attention.

Still a bad idea though.

Look at his date of birth.
