a decade or so down the road, what do you think will be happening? that i went from some shitty motorol flipphone to an iphone in 3 years is pretty insane to me. what direction will they take in the future? holo-phones? cellphones capable of playing crysis in full settings? anything revolutionary or just hardware updates what say you?

Wouldn't be practical, I can easily see wireless earphone implants though, with the wireless phone unit being part of a wider PDA thing.

part of the pda would imply something like bluetooth where you still have an actual phone
which I would then question the point of having an implant if you have a phone you could lose lol

i can't see them getting much farther than an iphone. they might get smaller, more compact, and have more processsing power ie, better graphics, better internet capabilites, memory etc. but high quality phones these days double as mini computers and i dont see how they can get any better

Well, people have been saying that about every technology since forever.

well how much better can you get than a computer?
the only thing phones are gonna do is become more efficiant, but they wont be getting much better than they are now

Up your ass along with the 's' you forgot to put on years.

They'll most certainly become more powerful. Faster, able to handle more operations at once (high quality 3D graphics most probably), more memory, more storage, etc.

As for more functions, god knows. The ability to switch on home appliances remotely (this can be done now, but it's not widely used at all)? Maybe they'll replace handheld games consoles (DS, PSP, etc)? It's kind of hard to imagine that far in to the future, but I'm sure there will be a few more useful features on our mobile phones.
