its been shown that our brain determines what we see and that our sight is related to our brain

so does that mean people who need glasses are stupider then people who dont?

I think they mean what you see as in how you view things, not the capacity of things you can actually see lol.

Okay first of all our brain orients what our eyes see. For example everything we see is actually upside down, but our brain turns it right side up -- and secondly, there is something called visual memory. If you see something like a plane in the air for the very first time in your life -- but you've seen birds before, your brain will try to recognize the object as a bird and so the first time around you won't be able to properly discern every detail or edge simply because your brain is trying very hard to recognize it as some sort of bird.
Our eyes on the other hand degrade over time, so therefore the CLARITY in the images that you could see before would reduce -- and theres nothing your brain can do about it. Its sort of like an auto focus camera, if your camera's bad or its damaged, then the camera's auto focus function won't be able to focus on every detail no matter how hard it tries simply because the quality image you have to start out with is bad.

If this isn't a joke topic biggrin.gif :

No. In short, it is to do with the eye muscles weakening.

If I'm remembering it right from physics in school, your eyeballs contract to view things closer to you and expand to view things further away. Due to your eye muscles weakening, your eyes struggle to do this. It's been a while since I learned it so I'm probably wrong.

If I stab you in the eye and your eyesight is permanently damaged, does that make you a dumbass? No, because the brain isn't the only factor. The eye is essentially the receiver and the brain is the decoder. A bad receiver will fuck you over as much as a a decoder.

Eyes take in the light, the brain interprets the input. As a result, if your eyes are below par, glasses help correct the ability to intake data.

Your eyes are deteriorated when you need glasses, not your brain. Many studies have shown that, on average, people with glasses are more intelligent than people without glasses.

People with glasses have defaults in their reaction and definition to see.
It has no relation to intelligence.
