the Mayan calender doesn't end in 2012, it marks the start of a new cycle of some 6.000 year time period. it wasn't even the longest, they also had cycles of 37.000 years so come back in 33.000 AD.

nice try being condescending. the Mayans had three calendars, one of which ends in 2012. the one most widely used and still in use today has cycles of 26.000 years (not 37, my bad) based on the position of the pleiades.

The world (as in life on earth) will end. But I doubt it will be in 2012, that's all a bunch of bs.

By the way, the Mayan calander never said the Earth would be destroyed. It says that there will be a new cycle and that there would be a large catastrophe, but life will go on.

The problem with this "end of the world" fanatic is that they take a fraction of some information that seems to be in the line of how they thing, and blow that up to be a huge case, and along the way adds bits and peaces to the story from here and there. Many that even isnt even related to each other. If that was how real science was dont, well we whould not have been posting on this forum them.

which reminds me, on my sister's birthday in 2029 (13th of april) some asteroid will pass Earth pretty close (some 20.000 miles) and there's people who say that it's going to hit us. so if the world doesn't end in 2012 it'll end in 2029 amiright?

If you go on to nasa's website i think there is some info about that asteroid. And if i am not to far off there isnt any real danger that it will hit us.

If we had to worry about stuff like this our head would explode of stress.
