Only a matter of time, I will wager that we will know the origins of the universe before you die, assuming nothing ends your life prematurely.

Knowing the origins of the universe has NOTHING to do with proving or disproving God, sorry man. :(

Quite the reputable thread, sirs, and I applaud your laudable debate, but I might say this raises certain questions regarding the Cambrian Explosion, does it not? Mainly of course the problem regarding time, and amount of genetic change that resulted, no?

I know, the implications of this Extinction are absolutely groundbreaking since essentially their mass Extinction caused a more complex gene pool. Same with the Dinosaurs.

Keep making blind assertions and pretending they're facts.

Knowing the origins of humanity and knowing the origins of the universe doesn't remove the possibility of God. It may disprove the Christian conception of a God, but that was flawed from the onset.

A God, by definition, does not need to be the creator or sustainer of life.

I do believe in evolution and big bang theory of the universe, however even these do not disprove the concept of God. The only way I could think of to fully and completely disprove the existence of God is a mathematical proof, however I don't see any of those forthcoming.

Science and religion aren't opposing teams in a sport, they're two entirely different sports.

Who is your God now?

God is dead.

Man, you are on point with analogies today.

To extend this one - saying that Science will find the answers to the creation of the universe and thus disprove religion is like saying that if the Pittsburgh Steelers win their next game, the Red Sox are out of the pennant race. :(

I don't believe in God. Or at least I believe God's existence is infinitely improbable.

You cannot disprove God with science. Thats like disproving cupcakes are delicious with math.

That's because people just change their idea of god to fit with science.
