but I don't think the EU is trying to say that just traditional electromagnetism causes the attraction of gravity

some quick quotes I found from electric universe sites:
Quote
The implications of electrical activity between planets will be profoundly disturbing for those who have built their cosmology around the weak force of gravity, acting in an electrically sterile universe.
The equivalence of inertial and gravitational mass strongly suggests that the force of gravity is a manifestation of the electric force
Gravity requires the near-instantaneous character of the electric force to form stable systems like our solar system and spiral galaxies
Gravity is due to radially oriented electrostatic dipoles
the crucial difference between the near-infinite speed of the electric force and the relative dawdle of light on any cosmic scale
My favourite is the final statement, although not really germane to what we were discussing. Keep in mind the gauge boson (the particle that conveys the force) of the electromagnetic force is the photon (light). So we could rephrase what they said as "light travels faster than light"! These sites are just full of this kind of non-sense, made to dupe people who don't know any better.

You are clearly fascinated with electricity, why don't you take the opportunity to learn something about it?

hmm, thats fine i suppose, i'm not a fan of big bangs myself i just dont think the observations match
why do you think that?

hmm, maybe that last one is a reference to scalar waves, anyways, i dont think all EU people are like a hive mind, i think there is just some that give it a bad name, but i dunno, im just going to continue my study of electricity, and focus on the history and avoid the EU theories for now

will check it out, but it looks like basic physics lecture
/edit, oh i see it is talking about superposition, which leads to what you were talking about

well have you seen those images that show the quasars connected to near galaxies, where the galaxy has a small red shift and the quasar has the extreme red shift, i think that is something important to think about
and also, according to relativity galaxies wouldn't hold together, so they revised the theory to include dark matter, well i think when the calculations are that far off i dont think its justified to invent something that has not been observed yet, and also black holes dont sit well with me, my observations of vortex's on earth are that at the center of a vortex is emptyness, not a black hole, maybe thats not a good analogy to make, but it seems natural that things just spiral on all scales

LOL, no. Relativity was not revised to include dark matter.

When you estimate the mass of a galaxies, it isn't enough to hold it together. There are many possible solutions to this problem, the first that come to mind are:
1. General Relativity is wrong.
2. The estimates of mass are wrong.
When most people talk about dark matter they are referring to solution #2. The reason we generally don't attack #1 is that it has been thoroughly tested and it seems to always work, except in this one case; which suggests something else is wrong with the calculation (see #2). Eventually if #2 fails to produce results, we might someday have to attack #1. But the reality is (and I know they didn't tell you this on those junk science sites) that #2 is working well. It is almost beyond doubt now that dark matter exists. I wonder why they forgot to tell you that on the Electric Universe sites... :o

This method has worked so many times in the past, but you feel it is unjustified?

Egg McMuffins don't sit well with me, but that is no reason to doubt their existence.

i didnt mean to say relativity was revised, i meant that the cosmology theory was revised to include dark matter, that was my bad for not properly typing out my thought
and to specify, i meant to say black holes were counter intuitive to me, and i know that isn't not a logical proof for anything, i was just saying...

and that professor guy in the yale videos writes his r for radius the same as pi, it was starting to piss me off, ha ha

-1 * -1 = 1 is counterintuitive for me, but that is no reason to think it is wrong (well I can show it must be right with vectors, but the instant I stop thinking about vectors, it seems wrong again!). Your intuition will get you into a lot of trouble in these fields...

Oh and I'm really glad you are watching and following it (or you wouldn't have noticed the r's vs pi) :D

who is going to travel to: 20-24 March 2014. Albequerque, New Mexico. USA - the 2014 conference on the electric universe?

some quotes from the website which advertises the event:

Much of the material considered by the Electric Universe is peer-reviewed, but not all

The Electric Universe is based on the known properties of plasmas, in preference to unproven theoretical physics, and consequently does not require black holes, dark matter and dark energy, neutron stars and the Big Bang.

and to advance the cause:

More speculative aspects of the Electric Universe theory argue that some planetary features, such as craters are produced by cosmic mega-lightning electrical scarring rather than impacts with meteorites.

oh I did not even see you post because I was so involved with the comments of Azrad, lol
but ya, I took physics in college but I never finished, now I just study and read whatever on weeknights while I'm bored after work, but when I get my own place with some land, I'm looking to set up some experiments
lately I've been reading some victorian era stuff gathering ideas for experiments that are within my budget, but aren't something common that can just be watched on youtube
