That is just a short quote, there is much more to read on the truth contest.

Why is everything you quote from the first 5-6 pages of this book? You haven't gotten very far in it, have you?

I read the whole book and the 2nd top entry on the truth contest also.
Why I quote the first page is good question hehe. Maybe to let you check the rest for yourself (if you are a truth seeker...).
Maybe because I read the first pages more than once already (had not much time to read the rest again yet, but I will).
The first pages are also more concentrated, rest is developped explanation of the first pages.
As it says on top of the Present "The Ultimate Truth in 3 pages.", but you have to read the explanation following to understand what is said on the first 3 pages : "Keep reading: Many disagree with parts of this book until they have read it all. The things said at the beginning are explained in greater detail later in the book."

Well, I did try, but you have to read all the book to start to understand.

This is the claim of crackpots everywhere. Its backwards thinking. Imagine if physics was taught this way:

Student: I don't understand how to apply f=ma, could you please help?
Instructor: Sorry you can't apply f=ma until you have finished this entire course, until then you just have to sit here and do nothing, then at the end you will magically understand the whole thing.

This is good exemple actually : you can maybe understand how to apply f=ma after first lesson, but you will only truely understand how it really works after you will have finished the entire course... And most people will not get it after first lesson anyway.

Here are some exemples that could help you understand my point :
If you read 3 pages of a novel, you can not know the full story... you can not really understand the meaning of the 3 first pages if you do not read the rest.
It the same with a movie : if you watch 3 minutes of a 2 hours movie, you can not know what will follow (or it is a very bad movie)...

Yes but we can criticize the first 3 pages without having read the entire book. Spelling mistakes, bad grammar, crazy punctuation, failure to suspend disbelief, stupid character names, and many others (I'm not much of a literary critic, I'm sure others could make this list quite long). But you are saying we can't criticize it until we have read the entire thing. And if someone manages to do that, you will then reject the criticism, telling them they didn't pay enough attention/think hard enough about the top and tell them to read it again before they criticize it. Or perhaps you will tell them they need to read some other companion book first. Or you will just say they are closed minded. Acceptance of your rule of "you must read the entire thing first" is the first step in making your statements about it unfalsifiable; which alone is enough not to even bother reading it.

it has truth to it though, because when you start the course, you just understand how it's applied, but not necessarily the whole concept

you will indeed understand the concept a lot better once you get more in depth in mechanics, so you get a better picture (such as learning the concept of vectors and momentum)

I have degrees in physics and in electrical engineering. Vectors and momentum are concepts covered in high school physics. It's not complicated stuff. This book is just hogwash.

It's actually very simlar/along the lines of the way I think of and perceive life.

Thanks for posting OP.
