I don't claim to know anything more than you do. I was merely making though-provoking questions on the origin of the universe.

No problem with that, I just didn't want to have it go into you have to have god for the big bang type discussion.

Yeah, this isn't PaRD rolleyes.gif
Someone just mentioned how this disproves God. I was saying how it could be used to prove God's existence.

Science defies itself.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed yet it's in existence?

New theory please =|.

Energy always was and there is no point of creation?

We will never know.

There has to be nothing before something and how would something come from nothing.

Why does there have to be nothing before something? Because you can't imagine otherwise?

Well, if there is a "before" to something, then that "something" was once not in existence. If nothing is in existence, nothing comes before something.

There is a date for the universe.

So what was before the big bang?

The Big Bang happened, there is no question. If it did not happen then physics and math as we know them are entirely incorrect. The events prior to the Big Bang are what is being called into question, the religious value an idea of creationism or divine causality, scientists value the current hypothesis among cosmogonists.

If you choose to approach the question from the cyclical perspective then our universe existed before the Big Bang, from a string theory perspective there existed a large amount of false vacua (10^500).

Too smart to NOT be a multi.
