If you yourself can't rely on the validity of your own sources, we don't have to view any of your other sources as valid. Nothing you claim going forward, and even in retrospect, is legitimate. If you don't stand behind the validity of your own sources, neither will anyone else.

If you ever take a chemistry course (seems unlikely) they'll make a special point of talking about the meniscus and how to properly read the level of water.
