now i'm really confused. in post 47 Hell Knight seemed to imply they should have use a material that does not produce x-rays when hit by radiation. My point is there is no such material.

where else but in munich (and that village built near a monastery is the most cosmopolitan place in bavaria  ;)  ) do "stockpisser" exist?
not sure if we should explain what it means  :P

but when it comes to comparing states, bavaria would likely match texas
under total control of the csu (the most right wing of the established parties) since ever
and considering everyone (even the chinese) who is not a bavarian a prussian  :D

about the "stockpisser" or about being called "saupreiss whatever"?

actually those bavarians have one more thing in common with texans
every so often when they disagree with someone from the outside they start talking about secession
and re-establishing the kingdom of bavaria

note: good to hear you have a dog since "hunde sind nur bessere menschen"

I have no idea what a stockpisser is and I don't get called a preiss cause I'm not one. I just never heard such odd comments made about bavaria. I do consider bavaria the elite of germany although Baden-Württemberg is good too. :P

seems i need to explain what a 'stockpisser' is after all:

traditionally there were those old men going in the morning to the hofbraeuhaus (and other large pubs) sitting there all day and drinking one mass (1-3 litres each) of beer after the other and to avoid getting up and wasting time they positioned their walking sticks between their legs in a way that they could relive themselves of surplus liquid without spilling too much on their trowsers - hope you get the picture ;)
and if you run into the right 'bazi' you will get called 'saupreiss badischer', 'saupreis italienischer', etc etc
yes, you have the rural elite where there are voting booths with 100% return for the csu and if at an election one vote for the fdp or spd comes up, there are riots in the streets and everyone tries to find out who has been affected by the communist virus - if maybe there is a young schoolteacher having moved into the area since the last election, he better ask for police protection
in case you want to know more about bavarian culture/habits, listen to the songs of fredl fesl :)

in general the bavarians are quite nice people and their dialect is one of the more pleasant ones in germany, that they produce nice dark beer (weak, but tastes good) and lebkuchen is definitely a plus but the same cannot be said about their weisswuerstel or blutente (no comparison to the one in paris)

interesting that you show in your next post a map from 1871 (?), ie after the occupation of the kingdom of hanover and some other places
plenty people in those territories occupied by the prussians especially after 1789 dislike the prussians even more than the bavarians do
btw, one should really talk about 'brandenburgians' because the original prussia where the margrave of brandenburg borrowed his king tilte from was not german and outside the hre
perhaps the following map can clarify things a bit:

/edit just remembered
and since it is rosenmontag today (at least here in australia it has started), let's show what some in those occupied territories think about prussian militarism:

Well, that all sounds pretty outlandish to me but you are entitled to your opinion. I've lived in bavaria for a good chunk of my life and my family still lives there and I have never experienced any of what you're talking about, but I've never really had any contact with the lower class nor have I ever been to a hofbraeuhaus, so I assume that accounts for the discrepancy.

The map I got straight from wikipedia under prussia and regardless of how it came about, it explains why everyone who's not a bavarian is considered a prussian. :P

no it doesn't you 'saupreiss amerikanischer' ;)
the nationalistic-chauvinistiic attitude of the bavarians has deep roots, that they use 'preiss' instead of 'auslaender' probably goes back to bismarck tricking the bavarian king to support the king of prussia to be elevated to be german kaiser - having said that, the bavarians are generally quite peaceful exept when 'fingerhackeln'
the biggest problem i have with bavarians is that their 'lederhosen' are (outside germany) considered the national costume for all germans which is crap
quickly back to the 'stockpisser' - since the electrification of the beer cellars and the 'enlightening' of the darkest corners, that tradition has fallen somewhat in disuse
but i am pretty sure that there must be an underground movement to revitalise this valuable cultural heritage :)

my guess is that the 'bayerische rundfunk' abstains from telling the truth about bavaria and rather takes the mickey out of other states/regions - saxony is a good choice

an update relevant to the op: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/10672216/Prosecutors-drop-charges-over-Fukushima-nuclear-disaster.html

Prosecutors drop charges over Fukushima nuclear disaster
No-one has been held accountable for the second-worst nuclear accident in history
4:12AM GMT 03 Mar 2014
Local residents and environmental groups have reacted angrily to the announcement that prosecutors have decided to drop the charges for responsibility for the crisis at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant.
As Japan nears the third anniversary of the March 11 earthquake that crippled the plant, no-one has been held accountable for the second-worst nuclear accident in history, despite the independent investigative committee set up by the government concluding in July 2012 that the accident was "man-made disaster" caused by shortcomings in Japanese corporate culture. ...

These kinds of things happen when private contractors do clean up jobs.
