Actually i'm majoring in behavior and neuroscience, and collecting data for my thesis (hoping to get my phd some day).

The thesis is "the effeminate male of the 21st century", it describes the major differences of mans role throughout history leading up to today. As well as the effects this has on society as a whole.

You are the prime example of today's effeminate male. I'm willing to bet that your gf/wife calls all the shots in the relationship; that or you still live with mom and dad and mom is the boss.

Also for the taboo part, this is fact. Man once stood toe-to-toe and butchered one another with sword, pole-arm and various other barbaric tools of destruction. Hell, even today such things happen as people blow themselves up/shoot each other to bits. The difference is, the general public isn't exposed to the reality of the situation.
Only partially censored video, word-of-mouth accounts, pictures, and so on. Today such things like violence, nudity,sex, killing, etc are all taboo subjects which are part of our fundamental psychology -The animal within us- we still have yet to see the impact of repressing these urges has on society as a whole.
