If you really don't care how things work, and you think the only thing that matters is THAT they work, I think you're going into the wrong discipline. Science exists because we ask questions and seek the answers that you think we shouldn't be looking for. If you're going into biology, you're going to have trouble finding employment if that's what you truly believe.
