Ok firstly, you say you are in perfect health, but perhaps you should actually compare yourself to someone who eats meat and check your protein levels. It is definitely not superior to a meat diet, unless of course you are eating too much meat but if you are eating too much of anything then it is bad for you. As long as you eat the correct amount, then a diet that has meat in it is healthier than one that goes without. The chickens I eat are always free range chickens, so yes I have seen them and they are living a pretty happy life. So are the cows that I eat. I never eat an animal that has been tortured its whole life. Your body does create amino acids, but that is not enough to depend on. You still need to eat protein. And as for the last sentence, that is just bullshit. Meat makes us a fuckload of money. Compare how much meat costs to how much fruit and vegetables cost. I can guarantee you that a meal involving meat will cost a hell of a lot more than a meal without.
i meant: meat makes money for its own industry. it is far more expensive to the consumer. good for you to eat free range, i fully support that idea. as for protein, i am 6'4" 190 lbs and havent been sick in about 3 years. ive smoked cigs for almost as long as vege. i really dont care what anyone does with their life, but the facts are facts, a vegetarian lifestyle is superior to the individual and to society as a whole. -you just have to get over the desire to eat it, which most obviously would never do.
as for the absurd "its a fundamental part of economy" arguement" you just dont get it. you arent just putting 7 million out of work. think of having a set number of workers and the amount of tasks they can perform. by us spending more labor to feed ourselves we are paying out of our own asses when we could be using this workforce for something else.
besides, it would be a gradual change, not an instant change overnight. the one closing down the stockyards would be the consumer, slowly by choice. the only laws i would even support would be humane treatment laws. i am not some PETA nut trying to force radical ideas, this would be accepted over a century's time, or it wouldnt.
