Of course. Universe is almost endless, there must be something else out there.

The question isn't whether life exists.. the question is whether intelligent life exists.. remember how in the dark we are about this question, we have only identified a handful of planets beyond our solar system. Other life in the universe is almost assured.

This may interest those in this thread. I hate to advertise in other threads, but it's really related and important to me. Read posts 1 and 3. Open to all opinions/suggestions.

not really if you consider it as a metaphor, the universe provides the conditions for life to exist just like the human body is a habitat for bacteria, and if the universe now is considered alive because the star formation process is going on if its end will be the big freeze when the material used in new star formation is depleted, the smaller stars slowly fade away and even the blackholes "starve" because they wont have anything to consume and evaporate, universe can be called dead

and if the universe now is considered alive
It isn't, so you can stop right there. And any attempt to widen the category of what is considered alive to include the universe, will also necessarily include other things which everyone will agree is not alive (such as rocks), making the word meaningless. In short when the word "alive" describes everything, the word will become redundant and useless. Then we will have to come up with a new word to separate biological self replicating objects from other objects. And then you will try to stretch this word to make it include everything thereby ruining it as well. And we will repeat this process until you get tired and stop, so just do us all a favor and stop now.

Really hard to grasp the unknown.

It's all here say but the possibility of it is strong.
