Which leads me to think, even if we advance technologically and happen to survive our technological adolescence, there is probably no way we can come in contact with other races. If there are millions of civilizations capable of thinking and to create new technologies, I would guess some of them would be older and more advanced that humans. If they havent made contact with us, then that just means we will probably never make contact with them either. or we will just blow ourselves up trying.

we havent been around very long. the radio signals from earth are travelling in every direction at the speed of light. assuming they would use that to find us they would ahve to be in a 100 light year radius -its unlikely there are any intelligent liforms in that range. once it hits closer to 500 light years the chances increase exponetially. but that also means if they travelled back to earth to meet us it would take at least that long to reach us (unless they have some instantaneous form of travel).

actually, we're unique, and there no aliens exactly like us, but I do believe that there another lifeform in the universe for sure
