I have a weird facination with Giant Squids, and somewhat with the Megalodon. Things of that size, in an ocean we really know nothing about scare the ever-loving shit out of me.
I think it could possibly exist.
Sharks are not warm-blooded, and could probably easily survive in deep waters. Let alone the fact it is possible, and probable, that there is a large enough species to act as a food source for this beast in the depth it could live in.

This is a very interesting thread

How is it interesting?
Yes, it's possible, but not likely.
That's the entire thread.
All these theories about where it could still exist are entirely pointless.

It's interesting because these creatures are so fascinating to learn.

It's not pointless. You probably think it's pointless because you are not into the aquatic life, current or prehistoric.

Let the people who are fascinated with these creatures discuss it on this thread.

Discussing what they were is great and I happen to love aquatic life, but discussing whether or not they still exist when the likelihood is next to nil is stupid.
You aren't learning anything in this thread except how to waste your time.

Some ocean enthusiasts, like me, have an intrigue about these giant sharks. I have been thinking whether or not its still alive for as long as I remember because our ocean is HUGE. Some people want to believe the shark is still out there and I am one of them. Tell me why you think it's stupid to discuss whether it's still alive or not.

Because it's like discussing whether or not pine trees exist on the dark side of the moon. It's not impossible but it's so unlikely and ridiculous that it's not worth discussing.

Going to agree with this guy right here. Fantasizing about sharks isn't going to get you anywhere, better get that scuba gear on if you really care that much. Theres no scientific discussion going on here, all people can think of saying is that it is statistically possible that the shark exists due to the ocean's vast size.

If you're going to debate about whether a shark still may exist or not, start talking about the conditions it might need to survive, where might it be likely to be spotted, etc... Honestly, I don't understand how people who are interested in this can mindlessly just argue by saying "omg the oceans so big" or "omg it can't exist cuz the sharks so big"

Personally don't really care that much about aquatic life...so my input ends about here. Have fun ^^.

megamouth and shit have just been discovered the last 30-20 years, might be a chance but very rare. rand ass temp changes and migration paths wud follow whales and dunno, might be messed up cuz humans fuck it up rite.

100% legit scientific shit right there

It's a weird world we live in, anything is possible. -_-

Some fossils, named the “China dragon fossils”, were recently exhibited in the Xinwei Ancient Life Fossils Museum in Anshun, Guizhou. When archeologists first stripped the clay off the fossil, they found the dragon had a pair of horns above its head and the shape of the dragon was very like the legendary animal often described in books and stories.

The dragon fossil was found in Guanling County, Anshun City, in 1996, and has been kept in a good condition. It is measured 7.6 meters long. Its head is 76 centimeters long and the neck is 54 centimeters long. The body is 2.7 meters in length and 68 centimeters in width, and the tail is 3.7 meters long.

The dragon’s head is in a triangle shape. Its mouth is 43 centimeters long. The widest part of the head is 32 centimeters long. The horns project from the widest part of the head, and are symmetrical and 27 centimeters long. They are a little bit curved and tilted, which makes the fossil look very much like the legendary dragon.

The China dragon was a reptile animal living in the ocean in Triassic Period about 200 million years ago. It was an amphibian. It spent most of its time living in water, although sometimes it walked on land. It also laid eggs on land. The animal lived on fish and small reptile animals.
