Of course Einstein gets the most votes.
I'm for Maxwell, as he was the first to discover that light was electromagnetic radiation.
He also tried to develop a working theory of the Aether, as did other scientists of the time.

Galileo - Because he made the telescope which helped us see and understand planets, and space is ftw so Galileo is the shit.

He didn't make the telescope. He bought one from a store and added some lenses to it and made it better.

Voted Einstein because Newton just stole other peoples work and claimed it.
Hawking is a good scientist too but I don't know much about his work or a couple of the others there.

Anti-Vouch Ptolemy's astronomy skillz dry.gif

[Edit]
Einsteins theory of relativity is one of my favorite discoveries by any scientist. Proving something as common as gravity doesn't exist is an amazing feat in my opinion.

What are you talking about? You obviously don't understand what general relativity or special relativity is. He never proved gravity didn't exist, he proved that gravity warped the local spacetime around it.

Spacetime is a theory of what gravity is and why it exists in the first place. Light doesn't have matter, gravity doesn't attract something unless it has matter. So why does a black hole suck in light? Gravity doesn't exist, his theory of relativity is a theory that the more massive an object is the more it bends spacetime and attracts everything, not just matter.

[Edit]
And he didn't prove it, nothing can be proven right.

definately einstein... he came to my hometown to observe the solar eclipse that would help prove his theory of relativity

That IS gravitation...Gravitation is simply a phenomenon, what explains it is a theory, learn the difference.
At least 90% of people confuse those things, same thing with scientific theory being "just theory".
Gravitation can probably be described using quantum field theory(as exchange of virtual gravitons), or string theory.

Spacetime is the medium that gravitational mass warps. Light does have momentum though, so why not consider it as matter. Gravity bends light, look up gravitational lensing of light. Black holes do suck in light, and the phenomenon gravity does exist, although it can be explained in different ways, hence the theory. You have little understanding of physics, and poor reasoning is no excuse for a false conclusion.

As for the reply to your edit, you might as well just give up on trying to learn anything because nothing can be proven right,id est by using your reasoning.
