They're trying to find the Higgs boson particle, or the "god partcile", which they think is the origin of matter, hence mass. The Large Hadron Collider won't disprove the existence of God, and it may fail or just run us into more mysteries smile.gif Don't get sucked into the hype that pays for projects like that, and don't get too worried about God's existence om the other side of that debate, because it will most certainly not put an end to cosmological theology. smile.gif

I'm not worried about it!

I just really need some questions answered smile.gif
I'd rather believe in bologna than nothing at all tongue.gif

Spira, you'd die before you reach the center because of the force. Every centimeter close to the event horizon has infinitely more pull than the previous. That being said, if you stuck your finger towards a black hole, the force pulling on your finger would be so much greater than on the rest of your arm and body that you would simply be ripped to shreds.

As for actually using a Black Hole, many time travel theories surround using a black hole as a type of worm hole... but then we run into the problem I just went into xD

Are you reading above? Yes I believe that the pressure is that high.

well, if there was a black hole instead of our earth and you'd be 7000 km next to it, you wouldnt recognize a difference tongue.gif

I think it did happen, but i also believe some that a heavenly body helped start it...i believe in a mixture

The prevailing theory that I like to believe in is the cyclic model in which the universe will ultimately coalesce back into a singularity in what is known as a "big crunch."

Which helps address this:

My problem with the Big Bang theory is that it does not account for how a contraction of the universe will occur. Our universe is constantly expanding, and there is nothing known yet that will cause it to start back into a collapse cycle.

Gravity. However gravity alone causes some discrepancies as the second law of thermodynamics cannot be violated (and is not time dependent). This then spawned the Lynds cyclic time model in which time is circular instead of linear. With each action also being a cause and each beginning also an end entropy will continue to increase. This however would mean that you will relive your life an infinite number of times unaware of your previous experiences restarting at what seems like immediately after you die (which has also been used to describe "hell" or purgatory in many beliefs)

The Big Bang is the cosmological model of the universe that is best supported by all lines of scientific evidence and observation. As used by cosmologists, the term Big Bang generally refers to the idea that the universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past, and continues to expand to this day. - wiki

I know they're running tests to try to recreate a smaller version of the big bang,
if they do, would this disprove several major religions?

If we in fact, recreated the big bang, would this disprove god?

Do you believe the big bang theory actually happened? I kinda want to see which direction this sways.

My own belief is that God's way is science, that his method, his creation IS science. Well...we just have to wait and see, we already built a gigantic haedron collider assuming that the bb theory is right, might as well hope it is biggrin.gif.

I believe the big bang because it is the best science has so far. obviously, as we advance scientifically, my opinion will fluctuate with it. I go by what we have.
But yeah, no telling what happened before the big bang.

i guess it happened
what do u guys say about those CERN peps trying to remake the bigbang and black holes will come lol
imo they cant make it
do u believe in black holes? 0.o

They are not trying to remake the theory.

And the chance of black holes is nearly zero. Even if one spawned, it would desenegrate in seconds, and not have enough time to expand.
