he said he started hearing random voices in his head while trying to sleep... not hearing voices after spirit ritual or something, so paranormal is off the table... unless he remembers engaging in the occult earlier or a few days prior...

that could only happen if he has been playing around with witchcraft or spirit boards or something.... if he doesn't believe 100% in mental manipulation then he wouldn't be hearing those things in his head...

what i say still stands, you need sleep and what you are hearing are just caused by brain chemistry "natural" things are happening to your brain, it happens to EVERYONE who goes through sleep deprivation... it happened to me.... it can happen to anyone

? why witchcraft and not just sensitive... :)
i believe 50% in mental manipulation but close to 0% during and before my two major psychotic breaks

Sleep paralyses has some clinical features that are really important. You shorten it up.

But you forgot this one: I could still move my head, arms, legs and whatnot. I wasnt going to move too much or get up as I was trying to sleep ya know. but I eventually did get up after realizing I wasnt going to get to sleep anytime soon

He said that, yes.

That AUTOMATICALLY discards the sleep paralyses (SP) diagnose, dude. Some short of "paranoid" auditive hallucinations (i dont like the term paranoid, but it's the most common at USA) could match, but sure he should be tested. Odds are not that likely for the SP right now. Easily tested, cause the sleep studied are not that expensive

But you gave him a really good advice. Go to the doctor. If he ever logs in again2

yea exactly. I can move so that rules out sleep paralysis. ive had S.P. before, I know what that is like. this is just voices. no other auditory or visual.

Actually it does not, as I pointed out earlier. Lots of people have sleep paralysis episodes without the actual paralysis (the name "sleep paralysis is a pretty terrible name). It is also common for sufferers to be paralyzed yet report that they moved during the episode (when in fact they did not).

So you describe symptoms consistent with sleep paralysis, and report having experienced sleep paralysis, but you don't think this could be sleep paralysis? Regardless; go to the doctor; it could be indicative of something really serious, or it could be totally harmless. Best to find out for sure.

I wouldn't delay not even a minute. Looks pretty complicated
