then you clearly haven't looked into the linked articles, especially the one in the op
in the moment it's mainly images while rosetta moves into a close orbit
more information on organic molecules will become available once the lander has descended
and/or when the comet gets closer to the sun
there are a total of 21 different scientific instrument packages on the probe and lander combined
only a few are able to currently sample information
and yes, one gets more pictures of the 'rock' is closer now, the closest released so far
(and believe it or not, there are people happy to see them):

Rosetta navigation camera image taken on 23 August 2014 at about 61 km from 4 km-wide comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. From 23 August, Rosetta started taking NAVCAM image sequences as small 2 x 2 rasters, such that roughly one quarter of the comet is seen in the corner of each of the four images, rather than all in just one shot. This is one example of the 512 x 512 pixel ‘corner’ image.

@ 'dro94' & 'tonof_bellhey'

please keep you e-peen fights in the gc

and for those who are interested in the further progress of the mission:
there is unfortunately no new information available atm but the global mapping phase will begin soon
a good write up on OSIRIS, the camera system used for that can be found at http://www2.mps.mpg.de/de/projekte/rosetta/osiris/index_print.html
at the bottom of the article are links to press releases covering earlier results of the mission
unfortunately are only some of the headlines (and some summary lines) in english, the linked articles are all in german
but many of the imbedded images should be easy to understand even for those who do not know german

postscript

the majority of images so far come from the navigation camera
if anyone wants to know about it's specifications -> http://starbrite.jpl.nasa.gov/pds/viewInstrumentProfile.jsp?INSTRUMENT_ID=NAVCAM&INSTRUMENT_HOST_ID=RO

even the wall street journal got in on the story of the mission -> http://online.wsj.com/articles/space-probe-gets-gravity-assist-in-journey-to-comet-1409334847
(an article worth reading - here what it is about:)

How Probes Get 'Gravity Assists' in Their Journeys Through Space

COMET ON 31 AUGUST 2014 – NAVCAM MONTAGE

what is going on atm? from http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-29036303

The European spacecraft is currently flying arcs over the "ice mountain" that take it no closer than 52km.
But from Wednesday, Rosetta will gradually drop this distance so that come next week it will be at an altitude of just 29km.
At that point, 67P's gravity should capture the spacecraft.
...
"And then, if the comet environment allows us to continue, we'll go further down, first to 19km and then to 10km from the centre of the comet."
...
Accomazzo said mission controllers had "some headaches" in trying to work out precisely where the centre of mass is on the 10-billion-tonne, rubber-duck-shaped comet.
It is an important detail for designing a safe orbit, but the flight director expressed confidence that this issue would be resolved in the coming days.

an interesting animation from http://blogs.voanews.com/science-world/2014/09/05/esas-rosetta-probe-gets-close-to-duck-shaped-comet-67pc-k/

This animation comprises 101 images acquired by the Navigation Camera on board ESA’s Rosetta spacecraft as it approached comet 67P/C-G in August 2014. The first image was taken on 1 August at 11:07 UTC at a distance of 832 km. The last image was taken 6 August at 06:07 UTC at a distance of 110 km. ((c) ESA/Rosetta/Navcam)

and this is how the comet looked from earth last month:

This image was recorded on 11 August 2014 using one of the 8 m-diameter telescopes of the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope in Chile.
Although faint, the comet is clearly active, revealing a dusty coma extending at least 19 000 km from the nucleus. The comet's dusty veil is not symmetrical as the dust is swept away from the Sun – located beyond the lower-right corner of the image – to begin forming a tail.

and can you spot you it here?

This sequence of images shows a crowded star field towards the centre of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, observed with the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope in Chile. In the foreground, comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko passes through the stars. The comet is difficult to spot, even with a giant telescope like the Very Large Telescope, but it can be seen here moving across the middle of the frame. Even in this image, careful inspection reveals the comet’s coma.

Good stuff, always checking up on this.

Funny off topic, I dreamt about this damn comet
It changed tragectory by a unknown force, and was now heading for earth. End of time like shit

how active is the comet? as can be seen from the above image there is something going on and

Comet P67/C-G dust jets, full montage 2 Sept 14 NAVCAM

Here is the full montage with a masked overlay showing two active jet areas: one narrow collimated group of jets to the upper left originating in the north polar area of the comet and another broad jet to the lower left arising in the large equatorial plain on the larger comet body. The broad circular patch to the right center is a camera reflection artifact.

and the following images show some changes in the landscape within two weeks:
